What is a Passing Score on the Algebra 1 EOC?
A scale score between 400 and 417 which equates to a Level 3 is a passing score on the Algebra 1 EOC. Unfortunately, the only people that know work at the Department of Education know exactly what that means. Scale scores are calculated using a formula that takes into account how you did on the test along with other variables. This formula is not published so there is no way to know how many questions you have to get correct in order to get a passing scale score. Based upon my 18 years of administering the Algebra 1 EOC I feel fairly confident that you can miss half of the questions on the Algebra 1 EOC and still have a passing scale score.
